Drive right and spend less at the pump!

For those of you who are still frustrated by the ups and downs of the current gas prices, following are a few quick tips that can put a few extra dollars in your pocket.

Avoid Stops and Starts!

You can easily add an extra 2-3 mpg if you choose routes that allow you to drive at the same speed and avoid starting and stopping.

Leave the car carrier at home!

If you’re planning on hitting the highway for a long drive, avoid car carriers or anything else that will cause drag. Car carriers, bikes and luggage on top of your vehicle can reduce your gas mileage by as much as 6 mpg.

Take it slow!

Driving at 55 mph rather than 75 mph can increase your gas mileage by 33 percent.

No Idle Time.

Shutting off your engine if you’re going to be idling for more than 30 seconds is an easy gas saver.

Get some Exercise!

Over 50% of all of the trips we take in our vehicles are less than 6 miles in length. If at all possible, walk or bike when you can. If that’s out of the question, make it a point to group your errands into one trip
