Flexible Fuel Vehicle Alternative.

Although the hybrid are currently generating more interest than the Flexible Fuel Vehicles on the market today, the increased production of ethanol may make them a little more marketable in the near future.

If you’re currently considering switching to a more energy efficient and environment friendly vehicle, you just may want to check one out.

Flexible Fuel Vehicles, also known as FFV’s are designed to use either gasoline or a blend of up to 85% ethanol.

The only modifications are to the engine and fuel systems. In all other aspects, these vehicles are identical to the gasoline models.

Although Flexible Fuel Vehicles have been on the market for almost 30 years, the sketchy availability of the ethanol product has reduced their popularity. According to the reports on these vehicles, the performance is almost identical when using the E85 fuel as it is when using straight gasoline although the gas mileage is probably a little less.

While they may not be the final answer - FFV’s are an alternative worth considering.
