Global Automotive Industry:A Review

What is the difference between European, American and Japanese cars? The answer: You. It is you that make the difference. People who interested to buy a new car will first choose between price and brand. Second then it come to whether it has market value in used car market, and finally goes to the interest of the spare parts availability.

We often come across the fact that A car is better than B car, but B car conserve less fuel thus more cost effective. We let A car price at $25,000 and B at $30,000 which marginally higher than A. Take the fuel price as $2 per liter, and car A consume 1litre per 10km while car B only use a modest 0.9litre per 10km. In this case, an end user might never notice the difference, and thus might choose car A instead of car B. If we assume that each car travel about 25,000km a year, car A will save a mere $ 1500 per year, which in 5 years time could cover the price difference between both car. The table below is used to illustrate the evaluation:

So, do we have these criteria while choosing a new car?

The sales of new car globally has increased about 3% to 5% every year, and this has been a major setback for the environmental friendly organization, as more and more monoxide gas will filling our atmosphere. Sadly, the sales of hybrid or biodiesel or electric car never rise. The price, the design and even the consumption is higher than gas car. It only just be ‘greener’. So, it is up to you on how you want your next car.

A decent car may last for 10 year, but with several repair and an excellent car can run 1 to 2 year without any problem. It is again you that made the difference. Whether it is European, American or Japanese car, it doesn’t matter.
