Watch for Gas Promotions
As gas prices continue to climb, more and more retailers and radio stations are sponsoring gas promotions as a way to attract customers and listeners.
If you’re currently looking for ways to reduce the amount of money you’re spending on fuel, you may want to check around to see if any of your favorite stores have teamed up with any gas stations or whether or not your local radio stations are hosting any promotions.
In Omaha, Nebraska for example, gas stations close to Hy-Vee grocery stores are currently offering 3 cents off every gallon of gas purchased to customers bringing in a grocery receipt.
Kwik Shops honor Super Saver cards issued by another grocery store chain that allow gas purchasers a 3 cent per gallon discount while a local radio station 103.1 takes over a local gas station to sell gas for $1.03 a gallon for a certain time.
Take a few minutes to call around to some of your favorite stores and inquire about any current or upcoming promotions and be sure to visit the websites of your local radio stations for a heads up on what they may be doing. In many cases, the promotions are short-term so it’s important that you know about them ahead of time.
If your favorite store isn’t involved in anything like this - you might want to stop by the customer service counter next time you’re in and put a bug in their ear. These stores typically spend millions of dollars on advertising and most would appreciate your suggestions.
